TS set to continue over most parts of southern peninsula

Subdued monsoon activity dominates most part of the sub continent. Yesterday’s trough on sea level chart now runs from Coastal Andhra Pradesh to Comorin area across Coastal Tamil Nadu. The East-west shear zone running roughly along latitude 13 degree North has become less marked.  Most of TN will see partly cloudy skies and very warm afternoons. Typical late afternoon thundershowers may break out in one or two places in the interiors eventually expanding to coastal areas due to good atmospheric conditions aided by surface heating. This is expected to continue for the next 3-4 days as SWM continues to be in break phase.
