Widespread rains to continue in Coastal TN
The monsoon rain in Tamil Nadu that shook the coastal belt with monster spells on 30th , shifted focus a little south- to the coastal delta region on the 31st. These rains are due to the presence of the cyclonic circulation over Sri Lankan landmass which could organize itself well as it moves into the open waters. In the wake of this persistent circulation and potential development into a low pressure area (LPA) in the days to come, the entire coastal Tamil Nadu inclusive of Chennai may witness moderate to heavy rain for next few days. The interiors as well could get isolated moderate rain spells.
City Outlook:
Chennai – Moderate to heavy rainfall through day. High of about 28 degrees.
Vellore – Overcast with light to moderate rainfall. High of about 29 degrees
Madurai – Partly cloudy with on and off thunderstorms. High of about 28 degrees.
Trichy – Thunderstorms possible through the day with a maximum temperature of about 29 degrees.
Coimbatore – Mostly cloudy with a high possibility of thunderstorms. High of about 27 degrees.
