Active monsoon in North Central India, weak in South
Monsoon continues to remain active over parts of Central India thrust upon by cyclonic circulations prevailing over Madhya Pradesh. Heavy rains are forecast for parts of West Madhya Pradesh and East Uttar Pradesh. Odisha stands a chance to get good rains as well. Else where in North, patchy rains are a possibility. South west coast of India continue to see weak monsoon conditions as monsoon flows are more unorganised. Ghats of Kerala and Karnataka will witness isolated moderate rains.
In Tamil Nadu, scattered thunderstorms are a possibility over interior parts of the state by noon eventually making its way towards coastal and near coastal areas. Warm weather will prevail over day time and will remain at seasonal ticks. 90% subdivisions of the state has so far witnessed lesser than normal rains for SWM and forecast is for increase in thunderstorm activity by early September.

Chennai – Mostly cloudy day with a high of 35/36 degrees. Chance of showers during evening/night.
Coimbatore – A cool and comfortable morning turning slightly warm with a day high of 33 degrees C. Spotty showers are possible.
Madurai – A warm day with a high of 36 degrees to expect. A chance of a shower or two.
Trichy – Mix of sun and clouds with a daytime high of 36 degrees. Chance of a shower or two exists.
Vellore – A day laden with clouds and Sun, high of about 35 degrees, chances of thundery development towards the evening.
