Another blistering day on the cards

Above normal day and night time temperatures, with heat wave like conditions, are expected to continue across TN as westerly winds continue their regime over the peninsula. The low level trough across Telangana region continues to persist. Large scale subsidence is still seen extending from mid levels leading to heating along with increased solar insolation, typical for this time of the year. Additionally, numerical weather models forecast above average temperatures to persist through this week. Both interiors and coastal areas will continue to sizzle with weak sea breeze doing little to alleviate the situation.

Chennai – Hot with a maximum of around 38 degrees and an uncomfortable night with a low of about 28 degrees
