Conditions favourable for NEM onset in 24-36 hours
The Southwest Monsoon has further withdrawn from entire north Bay of Bengal, some parts of central Bay of Bengal, entire Odisha, Chhattisgarh, some parts of Coastal Andhra Pradesh, some parts of Telangana, entire Vidarbha, Marathawada, some parts of North Interior Karnataka, most parts of Madhya Maharastra, some more parts of Konkan, entire north Arabian Sea and some parts of central Arabian Sea.
Conditions are becoming favourable for further withdrawal of southwest monsoon from the remaining parts of the country and simultaneous commencement of northeast monsoon rains over south east India during the next 24-36 hours.

Easterly wave is in full flow over Tamil Nadu and adjoining coasts of Andhra Pradesh. Heavy rains reported in many places of South coastal Tamil Nadu. North coastal TN including Chennai City likely to get good spells of rains from tonight as easterlies rain peak during night/early morning time.
