Dry weather with isolated evening showers expected in TN
Wheels of the monsoon has finally touched the remaining parts of Rajasthan, Punjab and Haryana, thereby it has covered the entire country yesterday. A well marked low pressure area which brought about very heavy rains in parts of Chattisgarh and Odisha has now weakened into a low pressure near Interior Odisha and Chattisgarh. This system will further induce heavy to very heavy rains in parts of Madhya Pradesh, Vidharbha and Madhya Maharashtra.
Off shore trough from Maharashtra till North Kerala coasts persists inducing heavy rains all along west coast. Rains in ghat areas of South Interior Karnataka, Wayanad, Nilgiris are expected to continue for another day. Interior parts of Tamil Nadu will see isolated showers by afternoon/late evening. Mainly dry weather with very warm afternoons will prevail across the state.
City Outlook:
Chennai – Warm and partly cloudy day with max settling close to 36/37C with slight chance of rains by evening.
Vellore – Breezy, warmer with day time high of 34/35C and a chance of a shower or two by evening.
Trichy – Windy and very warm with max of 37/38C. Chances for rain is very less.
Madurai – Very warm with max of 38C and very less chance for rains.
Coimbatore – Windy and overcast with max of 30/31C and a pleasant night. Showers/Drizzles will occur in parts of the city.
