Evening Thunderstorms to up its ante over Interior Tamil Nadu

The prevailing North-South trough over Interior peninsula continues to support favourable conditions for thunderstorm development during the evening/night. These conditions will prevail until the end of next week, after which the intra seasonal monsoon circulation is expected to revive the weakened monsoon in its last leg and result in above normal monsoonal activity across central and adjoining east India.

City Outlook:

Chennai – Mild day ahead with periods of cloudy weather mixed with blue skies. Maximum temperatures of 33/34 C with chances of rains.

Trichy – Moderately warm day with the mercury hitting 32-33 C. Showers likely.

Madurai – Partly cloudy skies on a day characterized by below normal temperatures peaking at 33-34 C. Evening thundershowers look plausible.

Coimbatore – Cool and cozy day ahead with the thermometer peaking at 30-31 C. Showers likely in the evening.

Vellore – Rather warm and humid afternoon on the cards with chances of rains. Maximum temperatures of 31-32 C seem possible.
