Heavy rain smashes Chennai City

Chennai city and surrounding areas witnessed heavy spell of rain since last night which had occurred due to the formation of UAC off TN coast and falling of convergence right over coastal areas of TN.

Many places in city witnessed heavy rains last night and few areas have registered 100mm in span of 12hrs which is huge as this is month of june. Rains are expected to continue for next one hour atleast as fresh set of rain band is seen knocking the doors of Chennai coast.

Rains are expected tonight as well after which there will be a little decrease in rain.
