Hot weather coupled with Isolated Thunderstorms expected over TN
For the last two days we have witnessed hailstorms lashing over North West Interior districts of TN and adjoining border areas of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala, which is likely to continue for next few days. These hailstorms are by triggered by intense heating, North-South trough and convergence zone falls as per topography. Meanwhile hot weather likely to continue over interior and Coastal Tamil Nadu.
Up North and Central India, intense heat is sweeping Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Maharashtra with temperature already soaring above 40°C.
City Outlook:
Chennai – A very warm day with a maximum of around 36°C and a minimum of around 27-28°C.
Madurai – Hot day with maximum of 37°C and minimum of 25°C. Isolated Thunderstorm possible.
Trichy – Hot with patchy clouds as mercury will soar to 38°C. Night will be very warm at 27C.
Coimbatore – Max Temperature may settle around 37°C and minimum of 24°C degrees. More chance for Thunderstorms by evening/night.
Vellore – The maximum temperature likely to hit 38°C with a minimum with 24°C. Isolated Thunderstorm possible.
