Hot weather to continue across coastal TN

Coastal Areas of Tamil Nadu including Chennai likely to witness hot day with temperatures expected to vary between 38-40°C.  There is also a chance that early sea breeze onset might save coastal Tamil Nadu from soring high temperatures of 40-41 °C. Towards the afternoon / evening hours,  thunderstorms will form over interior Tamil Nadu and give much needed respite from heat.  As the mid levels winds are weak these thunderstorms may not reach the coast. Mid level winds are expected to pick up speed within next 2 – 3 days, that can drive the thunderstorms to Coastal Tamil Nadu. Chennai city is set to witness its first full fledged widespread rains in next 3 – 4 days.
The Northern Limit of Monsoon (NLM) continues to pass through Lat.10.0°N/Long.60.0°E, Lat.10.0°N/ Long.70.0°E, Kochi, Tondi, Lat.14.0°N/ Long.87.0°E, Lat.17°N/ Long.90.0°E, Lat.20.0°N/Long. 91.0°E, Agartala, William Nagar, Kokrajhar and Lat. 27.0°N/Long. 90.0°E. Conditions are favourable for further advance of Southwest monsoon into remaining parts of south Arabian Sea, Lakshadweep area and Kerala, some parts of central Arabian Sea, coastal & south interior Karnataka and Rayalaseema and some more parts of Tamil Nadu during next 24 hours.
