Isolated showers in TN set to Continue

With the monsoon set to progress further north into Punjab and Haryana during the course of the coming week, the Southern peninsula continues to witness monsoon-break type conditions. The Upper air Cyclonic circulation over NW Bay of Bengal persists with a tilt South West wards. Rainfall is likely at many places in Central India, Eastern plains, Northeast, North-West and also the West coast of India with markedly heavy spells in a few places in Northeast India and plains of West Bengal.

Additionally the trough of low extending into coastal Andhra and South coastal TN is expected to dip down further. This will also push a higher probability for Chennai and Parts of TN to witness thundershowers for the next few days.


City Outlook:

Chennai – Mix of Clouds and shine, with a maximum temperature around 36. Chances of Thundershowers are bright during evening/night.

Vellore – Cloudy day with a maximum temperature around 37/38 deg C, possibility of a shower towards late evening /night.

Tiruchirappalli – Mix of sun and clouds with maximum around 37/38 deg C, light rains possible towards late afternoon followed by a cloudy night.

Madurai – A rather cloudy day, with mercury might dipping a little to about 36/37 deg C, an afternoon shower can’t be ruled out.

Coimbatore – Cloudy day with a spotty shower or two, max temperature to touch 32 deg C followed by a pleasant night.
