Mercury Marching towards monthly high
The world meteorological day was celebrated with same enthusiasm yesterday and many weather enthusiasts attended the function organized at various weather offices. Weather in Tamil Nadu witnessed mixture of moderate accumulation of rain and parching heat yesterday. Western and central interior received the precipitation while many areas remained hot and coastal areas were spared as easterlies helped in gushed the water contents into the atmosphere. Hot and dry weather is likely to prevail today and most areas remain in custody of the Sun. The cyclonic circulation off Sri Lanka over southwestern Bay is persisting and when it moves towards west expected to benefit the southern tip of Tamil Nadu in coming days.

Chennai – Temperature to rise upto 34.8 C and reduce further after 2pm . Mostly sky will be clear and can have variation of Humidity from 50 to 70 %.
Vellore – Mostly clear sky with uncomfortable weather may prevail. Temperature may settle around 38.5° C.
Madurai – Mostly clear sky with scorching mercury upto 40° C. Region might witness some thundershower.
Trichy – Cloudless atmosphere may increase the temperature upto 40.5° C.
Coimbatore – Partly cloudy with a chance of a light shower. Max Temperature may settle around 36° C.
