North East Monsoon transitional dynamics to commence across TN

As most of Tamil Nadu waits with bated breath, easterly winds are expected to start blowing across the state today. This marks the beginning of the North East monsoon onset, which is a major period of rainfall activity over the peninsula. Numerical models indicate rainfall to commence this week over coastal TN along with a gradual fall in daytime temperatures in the coming days.

Meanwhile South west monsoon is expected to withdraw for parts of Andhra, Telangana and Maharashtra with further pullback expected by this week end.
