North TN looks to ride the luck on Rains

The last few days have seen thunderstorm formation over North TN, delighting the denizens of the region. This trend will continue today as well and Singara Chennai’s chances for rains look good. Interior Tamil Nadu is likely to be warmer than the coastal counterparts.
SW monsoon is likely to turn active along the West coast thanks to the offshore trough at mean sea level running from South Gujarat coast to Kerala coast. Heavy to very heavy rains are seen for Coastal Karnataka and Kerala. The upper air cyclonic circulation over North Bay of Bengal & neighbourhood persists and now extends upto 7.6 km above mean sea level. Under the influence of this system, a low pressure area is likely to form over the NW bay in the next 48 hours and will be closely watched by the Indian meteorologists. This could trigger heavy rains over Coastal AP and South Coastal Odisha.
Favourable conditions are developing for further advance of the SW monsoon into some more parts of North Arabian sea, Gujarat, MP during the next 12- 24 hours and into remaining parts of Bihar and East UP over the next 24-48 hrs.
