Rain likely over Western Ghats of Tamilnadu
Much of the Tamilnadu state has seen little rain this week anyway, with only portions of western Ghats area reporting 5 or more inches. Total rainfall for the month of July is well below normal in most places, and in some areas is approaching values close to the historically lowest July. Starting this weekend there will be chances for rainfall, then much moderate temperatures for the balance of the month with more chances for conventional SWM (South West Monsoon) Thunderstorms.
In Tamilnadu, thunderstorms will fan out into most parts of western interior ghat region, some parts of central interior region . Occasional showers may break out over parts of the Tamilnadu during the next two to three days, according to the available forecast from various models. Generally Tamilnadu would witness dry weather.

Chennai – Partly cloudy with gentle wind. Mercury may rise upto maximum of 37°C
Vellore – Mostly cloudy and gentle weather. Day time temperature may go upto 36°C.
Madurai – Partly sunny with warm weather. Maximum temperature may settle around 36°C.
Trichy – Partly sunny and humid with chance of a light shower. Temperature may soar upto 38.5°C
Coimbatore – Pleasant weather with a chance of shower in the city and region. Max Temperature would be around 32°C.
