Rains on the West coast of India to be on the rise

The Monsoon low over North East India that had displaced thousands is expected to segue into the western part of India towards next few days. This could cause heavy rains in west-central India and further besiege the western parts of India, specifically the movement into Gujarat may produce very heavy rains. North east India also will continue to receive good rains.

The Offshore trough over Arabian Sea and the trough over West Central Bay of Bengal extending till Kanyakumari persist. Rains are set to increase further along the west coast of India, Konkan and regions in the Western Ghats in the course of next few days. Besides there is a likely hood of Isolated Thunder showers over parts of the Southern Peninsula.

 

City Outlook:

Chennai – Mostly cloudy with a high of 35 C, spotty showers during late evening/night can’t be ruled out.

Vellore – A rather cloudy day, with a maximum of about 34/35 C. Chances of light rain exist.

Madurai – Cloudy day with temperature around 38 C followed by a cloudy night.

Coimbatore – Cloudy and breezy with a day time max of 33C, an afternoon shower is possible. A cool cloudy night to follow.

Trichy – A cloudy day yet hot with a high of 39C. The warmth could persist through the night as well.
