September to kick start with widespread thunderstorm activity over TN
The low pressure area persists over Kutch and adjoining areas of South Pakistan and North East Arabian Sea extending upto 5.8km above sea level giving scattered rainfall to the states of Rajasthan and Gujarat.
Widespread rainfall is expected over the North Eastern states of India.
The interior and coastal districts of Tamil Nadu are expected to receive widespread convectional rainfall later in the day.
City Outlook:
Chennai – A warm day with temperature of max 34C and min 27C accompanied by thundershowers in the evening/night.
Vellore – A hot day with temperatures of max 36C and min 25C. Thundershowers are expected to creep in later in the evening/night.
Coimbatore – Warm day with max 31C and min 23C with chance of rains in the afternoon/evening.
Madurai – A day with temperature touching 35/36C along with thundershowers possible in the afternoon/evening. Minimum temperature could be 25C
Trichy – A mix of hot and cloudy day with temperatures of max 37C and min 27C are on cards. Light rains in the afternoon/evening cannot be ruled out.
