Subdued Monsoon in Southern Peninsula

The southwest monsoon has further advanced into some more parts of Northwestern and Northern India while remaining subdued in Southern most Peninsula.

The Northern Limit of Monsoon (NLM) passes through Lat 26.0 °N/Long 70.0°E, Barmer, Sikar, Sonipat, Shimla, Dharmshala, Baderwah, Pahalgam and Lat 35.0°N / Long 74.0°E. Today heavy rains are expected at isolated places over entire Gangetic plains, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Saurashtra & Kutch, Konkan & Goa, Coastal Karnataka and Northeastern states.

As for Tamilnadu, mainly dry weather is expected and few showers are expected mainly around Ghat regions.

 

City Outlook:

Chennai – Generally cloudy sky with an expected maximum of around 37 degrees and a minimum of 29 degrees. Slight Chances of rain exist.

Coimbatore – Generally cloudy sky with a high of 33 degrees and a low of 22 degrees. Few drizzles are expected.

Madurai – A hot day on cards with a max temp of 40 degrees and a minimum of 27 degrees.

Tiruchi – Generally cloudy sky is expected with a High of 39 degrees and a low of 28 degrees.

Vellore – Generally cloudy sky is expected with a Maximum of 37 degrees and a minimum of 28 degrees.
