SWM retreats in west Rajasthan and vigorous over parts of South India
The South West monsoon has started withdrawing from parts of west Rajasthan and monsoon withdrawal is expected to take time for other parts of India. Subdued monsoon has disappointed many regions like Kerala, Karnataka and has been good elsewhere. Maharashtra is set to have heavy downpour in coming days. The low pressure area over Telangana and upper air cyclonic circulation over west central Bay of Bengal off North Andhra coast would induce heavy rainfall activity over many north Andhra coastal areas and medium rainfall activity over parts of North coastal Tamil Nadu districts including Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kanchipuram.

Chennai – Mostly cloudy. Few places in the city may get an isolated shower or thunderstorm in the late evening/night. Maximum temperature would settle around 34° C.
