Thunderstorms expected in the interiors of Tamil Nadu

A Low Pressure area lies over south east and adjoining central parts of Bay of Bengal, due to which cloudy conditions are expected to prevail across the state during the day time. As far as temperatures are concerned, much of the interior districts will experience near normal to slightly below normal day time highs, whereas parts of north coastal and adjoining north interior districts can expect marginally above normal conditions. Late evening thunderstorms/’showers can be expected over north interior districts mainly Salem, Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri, parts of Vellore , Tiruvanamalai, Namakkal and adjoining districts. 

City Outlook:

Chennai can expect a hot and sultry day with maximum temperature settling around 38/39 C. 

Vellore to have a hot day with maximum settling around 40/41 C. A chance of a late evening shower.

Trichy can expect a partly cloudy sky and a maximum temperature of 39 C. 

Madurai to have an hot day with day time highs hovering around 39 C. 

Coimbatore to experience a warm day with maximum settling around 35 C.
