The Sound of Monsoon Music all set to reverberate over TN/SAP
Northeast monsoon has made its onset around October 25th as per IMD. From the start NEM has been in power play mode. October last week it was all coastal starting from Chennai to Delta was in firing line and even South Tamilnadu. The UAC gave very heavy rains over KTC belt two days back. Now it’s time to look at bay of Bengal for next system.
A low pressure area is likely to form by tonight over southeast bay of Bengal is likely to move towards North Tamil Nadu. This system has massive support from tropical waves and other conditions are also favourable.
So this will intensify into a depression or tropical storm and most likely to move towards north Tamil Nadu coast. Mostly I have tried to give pictorial representation on what weather model expects on this system.
So it’s most likely for VERY HEAVY-EXTREMELY HEAVY RAINS to fall over North coastal Tamilnadu as this system will move along the coast.
Upper level anti-cyclone will make system to move NW/WNW moving along TN coast and nearing chennai on Thursday. This is most likely to bring massive rains along KTC belt as of now.
Down from pondy to delta will see continuous on and off rains from now on And for Chennai, heavy rains likely to start from Wednesday and will continue for 2 to 3 days.
CHENNAI RAINS
Tomorrow there will be some light-moderate rains, Wednesday Thursday will be very heavy rains and from Wednesday night it will turn into extreme rains.
Even if rains are going to be extreme or not it will be safe to be prepared for the heavy water logging in many places over North coastal Tamil Nadu.
So it’s advisable to be prepared before Wednesday.
