Low pressure persists off South AP coast
Low pressure which was affecting TN for the past few days has moved northward and now lies over southwest bay of bengal off south AP coast and north TN coast. This system will continue to weaken and is expected to bring heavy rainfall for the coastal regions of AP in the next 24-48 hours.
Most parts of TN will be getting scattered thunderstorms. There is possibility of weak disturbance forming off the coast of Kerala in 1 or 2 days which could pull the moisture from Bay of Bengal causing an increase in rainfall for the coastal TN from Friday. An easterly wave could also affect coastal TN during the weekend.
City forecasts
Chennai will see a max temperature moving closer to 28C with a chance of isolated thunderstorms.
Coimbatore max temperature will be between 29 to 30C with a good chance of thunderstorms.
Madurai to see cloudy skies with temperature settling around 31C. The probability of thunderstorm is high.
Vellore to be pleasant with the max temperature staying around 25C.
Trichy will remain partly cloudy. Max temperature to be at 29-30C with a possibility of some scattered showers.
