Trough Over Bay signals heavy rains over Coastal TN and South coastal AP

A Trough of Low Pressure Area (TLPA) has formed in the South West Bay adjoining Srilanka. This rain bearing system is likely to move West-North West wards and enter Gulf of Mannar by tomorrow evening. Another Low Pressure Area (LPA) over South East Arabian sea adjoining the East Central Arabian sea persists and is unlikely to intensify as global weather models.

Heavy rains would occur at most places over Coastal Tamil Nadu with isolated very heavy rains at some places. Heavy rains are also expected at many places over interior TN. Once the TLPA moves Inland, rains are likely to decrease in the coastal areas of TN  and increase over interior TN from Tuesday onwards.
