Monsoon to get reinforced along the west coast
SWM has been slowly extending its arms and making its presence felt over North and northwestern parts of India .On the other hand monsoon is likely to turn active along most parts of west coast and Ghat areas. This active conditions should be attributed to the presence of an offshore trough as a striking feature near the west coast. Another phenomenon called East-west shear zone seen along 12N is also a significant contributor to the active weather across parts of south peninsular India. This mid tropospheric circulation enhances the Vorticity in atmospheric column where it is seen and thereby boosting the instability needed for thunderstorm development along with sea breeze associated convergence.
Parts of North Tamil Nadu districts like Tiruvallur, Kanchipuram, Cuddalore and nearby districts like Vellore, Villupuram, Tiruvannamalai which are
close to coastal areas would see scattered rainfall in the evening associated with thunderstorms and there may be heavy thundershowers in few isolated places in the above mentioned areas nearby union territory Pondichery also would see good showers in the evening hours for next 4 days.
Heavy rainfall might occur over most parts of west coast which includes Kanara coast, Malabar Coast and also Konkan coast for next 3 to 4 days.
