Cloudy skies and isolated thundershowers over TN likely
The axis of the monsoon trough has started shifting southward from the Himalayan foothills signalling a move to an active period over the core monsoon zone in the next few days. The trough runs from North Rajasthan to central Bay of Bengal. A UAC over North Coastal Andhra persists with a southward tilt. The trough and the embedded circulations are likely to cause heavy rainfall over parts of Bihar, Himalayan Bengal, Sikkim, NE states, UP, MP, Vidarbha, Maharashtra, Chattisgarh, Uttarakhand, Coastal AP, Telangana and Interior Karnataka. A weak off-shore trough from Konkan to Kerala coast is likely to cause heavy rain in isolated places over Konkan, Goa and Coastal Karnataka and light to moderate rains over Kerala.
