Surfeit Rains To Slack Off In The Southern Peninsula
The recent bout of excess rains in Tamil Nadu, interior Karnataka and Rayalaseema, is about to come to an end as a dry spell looms large over the region, with light rains in parts of north Tamil Nadu today. On the other hand, heavy rains are likely in the Konkan coast, with scattered moderate-heavy rain occurring in large tracts of east and central India.
Fairly hot weather is likely to prevail over the state of Tamil Nadu with light rains in isolated parts of the state. Particularly heavy rainfalls are likely in the Konkan coast, Madhya Pradesh, east Rajasthan.

Chennai – Partly cloudy skies with maximum temperatures of 34-35 C. A shower possible in the evening.
Trichy – The city is likely to face maximum temperatures of 36 C with a stray shower in the vicinity in the afternoon.
Madurai – A rather hot day on the cards with a maximum temperature of 36-37 C. Patchy showers could occur in the afternoon.
Vellore – A balmy afternoon with the thermometer peaking at 33-34 C. A thundershower could pop up in the district by evening.
Coimbatore – Comfortable day ahead with a maximum of 32 C. Drizzles could occur in the city.
