The famed North East Monsoon finally arrives
The eagerly awaited Northeast Monsoon sets in over South peninsular states and is likely to bring good rainfall over parts of TN, Kerala for next 2 days. For the past two days conditions were turning favourable for the arrival of easterly winds along the coast of TN with southwesterly winds making an exit all over the country.
As shown by the Numerical weather models, yesterday the conditions were slowly indicating the arrival of monsoon condition with easterly winds over TN alongside with isolated heavy rainfall occurring over few pockets of TN which made the official agency to declare the onset. TN/ Kerala likely to see increase in rainfall for next 2 days.
City Outlook:
Chennai – Nice and pleasant north easterly breeze to herald the day with showers. A day high of 32 degrees.
Coimbatore – A typical monsoon day with plenty of clouds around. A cool, breezy morning and a day high of 31 degrees. Showers to continue in the district.
Madurai – Generally cloudy skies with an occasional shower or two. A day high of 32 degrees.
Trichy – Day promises to be overcast with rain isolated showers over the region. A high of 32 degrees here.
Vellore – A comfortable morning with plenty of clouds around. Spotty rain showers over the region. Day high of 31 degrees expected.
