Thundershowers likely to continue over Tamil Nadu for the next 24 hours
Southwest monsoon has further advanced into remaining parts of south Arabian Sea, Lakshadweep area, most parts of Kerala and some more parts of Tamil Nadu and South West Bay of Bengal. The Northern Limit of Monsoon passes through Kannur, Uthagamandalam, Cuddalore and Agartala, William Nagar, Kokrajhar and Lat. 27.0°N/Long. 90.0°E.
Some respite is expected for north coastal districts of Tamil Nadu as temperatures are expected to decrease gradually over the next few days. Rain/Thundershowers can be expected in north interior and coastal districts along with delta regions.

Chennai can expect a gradual decrease in day time maximum temperature. Maximum for the day will be around 37 C. Rains can be expected late in the afternoon/evening.
Madurai can expect a hot day with maximum temp. around 39 C. Rains might be expected late in the evening.
Trichy will be hot and humid with a day time maximum settling around 39 C.
Vellore can be hot and cloudy with a day time maximum hovering around 39 C. Rains can be expected late in the evening.
Coimbatore will be cool and comfortable with day time high settling around 32 C. Some light rains possible.
