Decorous thunderstorm activity set to continue in many parts of TN
Yesterday’s trough at mean sea level now runs from North Coastal Andhra Pradesh to Comorin area across South Coastal Andhra Pradesh and North Coastal Tamil Nadu. An upper air cyclonic circulation lies over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and neighbourhood extends between 3.6 and 5.8 kilometres above mean sea level. An East-west shear zone runs roughly along 13 degree North at 7.6 kilometres above mean sea level. The dream thunderstorm activity is expected to maintain pace in many parts of Tamil Nadu with the presence of another developing disturbance in Bay of Bengal. Meanwhile, west coast is all set to regain its strength in coming days with the help of this disturbance moving inland.

Chennai – A warm day with good cumulus activity. A high of about 34/35 degrees. Good possibility of thunderstorms towards the evening and night.
Vellore – Mostly cloudy and warm with a high of about 36 degrees, chances of thundershowers towards the evening/night.
Madurai – Partly cloudy with a high of about 35 degrees.. Possibility of good showers during afternoon/evening.
Coimbatore – Cloudy day with high of about 31 degrees.
Trichy – A hot day, max temperature hovering about 37 degrees followed by a cloudy night.
