Isolated Thunderstorms to prop up North TN

The Well Marked low pressure area over West Madhya Pradesh had moved across to the west and intensified into a Depression over Gujarat region. After wrecking havoc in Mumbai and suburbs, this land based monsoon depression is going to unleash its fury over North Konkan and south Gujarat in the next 24 hours and over Saurashtra & Kutch region in the subsequent 24-36 hours.

As the enhanced monsoon activity has shifted to Gujarat and Maharashtra, Thunderstorm activity is anticipated to revive over south peninsula in the upcoming week. Until then, Isolated thunderstorms are expected to bloom across South interior Karnataka, North Tamilnadu and Rayalaseema leading to localised heavy rain during the late evening/night.

City Outlook:

Chennai – A warm and humid day in the offing. Bright chances of thundershower in some parts of the city during the evening/ night exists. Maximum temperature would settle around 35-36 degrees and minimum would be around 27-28 degrees.
Coimbatore – A Pleasant and breezy day. Maximum of around 31 degrees and minimum of around 22-23 degrees. Occasional showers and drizzles expected in the city.
Madurai – An uncomfortable and sultry day on the cards. Maximum of around 36-37 degrees and minimum of around 26 degrees.
Trichy – A Hot day in the offing. Maximum of around 37 degrees and minimum of 27-28 degrees.
Vellore – A Partly cloudy day giving way to an overcast evening. Slight chances of showers exist during the night. Maximum of around 33-34 degrees and minimum of 25 degrees.
