Northern India under the grip of Cold wave
Tamil Nadu at present is undergoing a dry phase as a massive Mid-Tropospheric Anti cyclonic circulation over Central India is keeping the state devoid of any meaningful Moisture. But Numerical weather models indicate that this could change by the middle of this week as Moisture laden Easterly winds are expected to hit the Coastal districts of Tamil Nadu and few adjoining interior districts. Till then Tamil Nadu would remain dry and cold.
Meanwhile Northern India is under the grip of a severe cold wave due to a Western disturbance. Under it’s effect, Ground frost is very likely today at isolated places over J&K, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand & Cold wave conditions are very likely at isolated places over Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, West UP and North Rajasthan.
