Calm weather conditions set to prevail

Under the absence of any significant atmospheric disturbances, most parts of the state will continue to see calm and sunny weather. Numerical models indicate a surge of moisture entering in the next few days owing to an east moving tropical wave known as Madden-Julian Oscillation (MJO).
This is expected to cause thunderstorms along the southern and coastal districts starting later this week. Cooler than normal weather conditions are expected over much of the state especially along the coast.
