Calm weather conditions to prevail over larger areas of TN

The South West Monsoon has been quite vigorous across Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi during the past 24 hours. With an active Monsoon Low seen near the North west Bay of Bengal, off Odisha and West Bengal, plumb monsoon conditions are set to prevail in the aforementioned states. This Low is likely to intensify to a well marked low over the next 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the West Coast will be drenched as usual with orographic rains under the influence of an offshore trough that is seen running from Gujarat to Kanara coast. Tamil Nadu, except for some cloudy skies, may not experience rains. Day time temperatures in the state will be close to normal at several places.

Chennai can expect partly cloudy to rather cloudy skies with a day time temperature settling for a slightly comfortable 34/35 C.

Coimbatore will stay a little warmer with a day time maximum temperature hovering around 33 C.

Madurai to see a warm and sultry day and day time highs could touch 36 C.

Vellore will stay cloudy and warm with a maximum temperature of 34 C.

Trichy will have a sunny day and day time high of 35 C.
