Cool nights to perk up winter flavour across TN
Dry and clearer weather pattern takes charge over most parts of Tamil Nadu with days dominated by plenty of sunshine, clear to hazy at times. Afternoons are expected to pleasantly sunny with a gentle breeze blowing across. As night falls, temperatures are expected to drop and turn nippy. Early mornings will be very cool as temperatures plummet to 17/18C in most parts of the state. North West Interiors in particular will witness sub 15C minimums. Trend of cooler nights will prevail for next several days.
Cold day conditions continue unabated in most parts of East Uttar Pradesh and Bihar keeping the maximum temperatures several notches below normal and there is no respite seen just yet. Dense fog to very dense fog prevailing over these areas is attributed to these cold day conditions. Cold wave conditions are forecast for Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and North Rajasthan. Minimum temperatures are expected to fall further by 2 or 3 degrees over North West plains.
City Outlook:
Chennai – Balmy and soothing sunshine with max of 30C. Markedly cooler in the nights and early mornings as temperatures dip to 19C.
Vellore – Sunny and comfortable at 30C. Nights will be nippy at around 16C.
Trichy – Joyous sunny day with highs of 30C. Cooler night is forecast with min dipping to 18C.
Madurai – Warm and sunny as mercury settles at 32C. Night will turn pleasant as min settles at 19C
Coimbatore – Tad warmer in the day with plenty of sun. Max and Min temperatures settle in the range of 32 and 18C respectively.
