Dry weather conditions will continue for the next 24 hours

The Northern limit of the Monsoon has not progressed in the last few days, but is expected to cover some more parts in extreme north west India over the next few days. Currently, the low pressure area over north Madhya Pradesh and the adjoining areas continues to persist and the associated circulation is seen up to 3 km above mean sea level. Under its influence, heavy to very heavy rains to occur over isolated places over Gujarat, east Rajasthan and parts of west Madhya Pradesh. The Monsoon Trough continues to persist as well with its axis passing through north Punjab to north east Bay of Bengal will be responsible for rains along the Himalayan states. In the south, no significant rains are expected and dry weather with persistent westerlies is set to prevail. Sea breeze penetration will be difficult near the coast of Tamil Nadu.
