Evening thunderstorms expected over North West and North Interior TN

The Upper Air Circulations over East Central Arabian sea  off the Karnataka coast and West Central Bay of Bengal off Andhra coast would continue the rainfall activities over South interior Karnataka and South Andhra coast. North interior Tamil Nadu and North Western Tamil Nadu districts may also join the party as medium to rather heavy rain with thunderstorms are expected in these regions. Prospects of rain  for Chennai city  looks bright and the city  may receive a shower or thunder shower at a few places during evening/night.

Interior and South TN districts are in the grip of heat wave  that is set to continue well into next week and raising the risk of wildfires in some mountainous areas.

City Outlook:

Chennai – Mercury may touch  36° Celsius. Rain or thundershower is expected over some parts of city.

Vellore – Mostly sunny with maximum temperature of 37° Celsius with a  chance of   a thundershower in the evening. Maximum Relative Humidity  will settle around  75%.

Madurai – Mostly sunny  with maximum temperature of  37° Celsius. Mild showers are possible in some parts of the city.

Trichy – Mostly sunny and warm. Max Temperature would be around 36° Celsius. The city may have a thundershower in the afternoon.

Coimbatore – Mostly cloudy with some chance of showers in the afternoon. Max Temperature would be around 35° Celsius  and Maximum Relative Humidity would be around 55 to 60%.
