Fair Weather to prevail across the State

Today December 31st as of 8:30 AM, NEMR (North East Monsoon Rainfall) period comes to a close and has fared poorly with a huge deficit for the state of TN.
A trough of low pressure at mean sea level lies over Equatorial Indian Ocean and adjoining Comorin area.
Dry and fair weather is expected to prevail over Tamil Nadu during the next two to three days with not much activity going over the waters of either side of the peninsula. Ground frost is forecast over hill ranges of the Nilgiris district during the next two nights/early mornings. The day temperatures may continue to be slightly above normal over Tamil Nadu.
City Outlook:
Chennai – A pleasant day with maximum hovering in the range of 30 degrees and minimum of around 20 to 21 degrees, sky condition is likely to be partly cloudy.
Madurai – A partly cloudy sky with maximum of 31 to 32  degrees and a minimum of around 21 to 22 degrees.
Trichy – Another pleasant day for the city with maximum of around 30 degrees and a somewhat cold night at 19 to 20 degrees.
Coimbatore – A partly cloudy sky with maximum of around 30 degrees and a minimum of around 19 degrees.
Vellore – Mild warmness with maximum of around 29 to 30 degrees with minimum settling to near 17 degrees.
