Intense heat continues over Interior TN
The presence of a Western disturbance as an upper air circulation over north Pakistan and adjoining Afghanistan and an induced UAC over north Rajasthan and adjoining Punjab & Haryana is seen causing some instability and the resultant showers over the aforementioned regions. Thunderstorms and squally weather is likely over most parts of North east India. Down south, unforgiving conditions prevail over most parts of Telangana, Interior pockets of TN and north coastal Kerala.
Most areas are likely to see above normal day max over the weekend. Cities like Salem, Palayamkottai, Madurai, Erode, Tirupatur, Vellore and Dharmapuri are likely to see intense day time heat and an high UV index. Bangalore, Krishnagiri and Hosur stretch should see some late evening showers.
City Forecast
Chennai – A warm morning ahead with partly cloudy skies. A day high of 33 degrees and a relatively cooler evening due to the presence of strong sea breeze and a low of 25 degrees over the area.
Vellore – Few scattered cloud cover during the day. Progressively getting hotter as the day wears on. Max temp in the region of 37 degrees and a low of 25 degrees.
Tiruchirappalli – Heat will dominate the proceedings and a high of 36 degrees and a low of 26C.
Madurai – Soaring mercury levels across the region. A sweltering day on cards. A high of 38 and a low of 26 over the area.
Coimbatore – A reasonable morning leaving way to periods of warm sunshine. A high of 36 degrees and a low of 24 with slight chance of stray showers across the South eastern areas of the city.
India vs Pakistan at Kolkatta WT20: The match should go on uninterrupted though regions around the city of Joy should see thunderstorm during the later part of the evening.
