Isolated Showers To Continue In Southern India

The recent spurt of thundershowers in the Southern States is likely to gradually burn out. Isolated thundershowers, however, are still possible in parts of Kerala, Tamil Nadu and southern Karnataka.
The mercury is likely to soar up and reach 40 C at a few places in Tamil Nadu. In eastern India, a few strong thundershowers accompanied by squalls and hail could occur in the states of West Bengal and Jharkhand.
City Outlook:
Chennai – A hot day ahead with the mercury rising up to 35 C during the day. Dry weather likely.
Madurai – Searing heat likely in the afternoon with the temperature rising up to 39-40 C. A thundershower or two could occur in the district.
Trichy – A blazing afternoon on the cards as the city could see temperatures nearing 39-40 C during the day. Slight possibilities of showers exist.
Coimbatore – Super hot weather likely with the thermometer reading 38-39 C in the afternoon. Rains could occur in the evening.
Vellore – A humid morning paving way for an oppressive afternoon with the maximum temperature hitting 39-40 C.
