Monsoon set to shrug off its slow & delayed start

An upper air circulation off the North Andhra-South Odisha coast is likely to move inland and reinvigorate the monsoon surge. Heavy rain is likely at isolated places over MP, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Coastal AP, Telangana, Konkan & Goa, Coastal Karnataka, Kerala and the North East states. Scattered light to moderate rainfall possible over parts of interior Karnataka.

Light to moderate rainfall possible at isolated places over interior TN, delta regions and parts of coastal TN. Heavy rainfall likely at isolated places over the ghat areas of South and West TN.

Chennai – Generally cloudy sky with a maximum of 37 degrees and a minimum of 29 degrees. Light rain likely over parts of the city in the evening.

Coimbatore – Generally cloudy sky with a good breeze interspersed with some drizzles. Maximum of 32 degrees and a minimum of 22 degrees.

Madurai – Warm weather to continue with a partly cloudy sky. Small chance of light rain in the afternoon/evening. Maximum of 38 degrees and a minimum of 26 degrees.

Tiruchi – Partly cloudy sky with a maximum of 36 degrees and a minimum of 27 degrees. Light showers possible in the evening.

Vellore – Generally cloudy sky with light rain possible in the evening. Maximum of 37 degrees and a minimum of 26 degrees.
