Scattered thunder showers to prevail over TN

Many parts of TN have received convective rainfall in the last few days. This trend is set to continue as day time heating brings instability with moisture being lifted to form rain bearing clouds. Numerical models indicate a weak circulation over North TN along with a persistent seasonal trough over the East coast. Meanwhile drier than normal conditions will continue across most parts of the country as the break monsoon regime continues until the end of this week.

Chennai – Partly cloudy clearing away as the day progresses. High of about 34 degrees and a low of about 28 degrees. Possibility of isolated thunderstorms during late evening.
Madurai – Some clouds – a dreary day. High of about 34 degrees and a low of about 27 degrees.
Trichy – Breezy day with clouds clearing mainly later. High of about 34 degrees and a low of about 26 degrees.
Coimbatore – Beautiful day with a high of about 30 degrees and a pleasant night with low of about 21 degrees.
Vellore – Generally cloudy sky with maximum of 33 degrees and a minimum of 25 degrees with late evening thundery development.
