Scattered Thundershowers likely over Southern Peninsular India

The monsoon withdrawal line continues to pass through Uttarkashi, Agra, Shivpur Kalyan, Gandhi Nagar, Dwarka, Lat. 22.0°N/ Long. 65.0°E and Lat. 22.0°N/ Long. 60.0°E. North Western parts of India are likely to remain dry, whereas North Eastern states of India will continue to witness fairly widespread thundershowers. A cyclonic circulation persists over the west central and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal extending upto 1.5 km above mean sea level.

Telengana and Andhra Pradesh are to witness widespread rains due to the presence of a cyclonic circulation in the region. Coastal and north interior Karnataka are likely to receive scattered rains owing to the presence of a trough of low over the east central Arabian sea off Kerala – Karnataka Coast.

Tamil Nadu’s north interior districts are expected to receive scattered thundershowers. Chances of scattered precipitation for coastal Tamil Nadu cannot be ruled out.

Chennai – A day with maximum of 33C with thundershowers likely in the evening or night.

Vellore  A day with temperature hovering around 32/33C with chances of thunderstorms in the afternoon or evening.

Coimbatore – A warm day with temperature around 30C with light rains likely.

Trichy – A day with maximum temperature around 33/34C and some precipitation in the afternoon or evening.

Madurai – A day of 32/33C with thundershowers in the evening or night.
