Scattered TS activity to continue over Interior TN

Northern limits of SWM remains same as yesterday, however conditions are favorable for further advance of SWM over some more parts of south Bay of Bengal/ some parts of east central Bay during the next 2/3 days.
Scattered thunderstorm (TS) activity may continue over interior parts of Tamilnadu, no significant change expected in the prevailing weather.

The Upper Air Circulation over Lakshadweep and adjoining Kerala between 3.1 and 5.6 Km above mean sea level persists. In view of its influence, isolated heavy rain is likely over Kerala and Lakshadweep over the next two to three days.

Thunderstorm with squall could occur over eastern parts of the country over the next two days.

Return of heat wave conditions is possible over parts of Telengana, Vidharbha and coastal Andhra Pradesh after 24 hours.

Chennai – A hot day to be expected with partly cloudy sky, maximum of around 38 to 39 degrees and a minimum of 29 to 30 degrees with  thundery development possible towards evening.

Madurai – A maximum of 39 degrees and a minimum of around 26 degrees with possibility of thunderstorm.

Trichy – A maximum of around 38 degrees and a minimum of 27 degrees with a possible thunderstorm.

Coimbatore – A Pleasant day with a maximum of 32 degrees with light rains is likely.

Vellore – A maximum of 40 degrees and a minimum of 27 degrees with light to moderate rainfall not being ruled out.
