Showers Likely Over Many Parts of Tamil Nadu

Over the past week, many parts of Tamil Nadu have endured intense heat, with temperatures soaring to 36-38°C. However, relief is on the horizon as numerical weather models predict an easterly wave bringing fairly widespread rainfall across both coastal and interior Tamil Nadu on March 11 and 12.

Central and southern districts may experience heavy spells, while areas south of Puducherry have the best chances of rain. Unlike previous waves, this system is expected to climb in latitude, potentially bringing some spells of rain to Chennai and its surroundings as well.

Since rainfall during this time of year is uncommon, we should make the most of whatever comes our way.

A slight drop in daytime temperatures is expected next week, though early morning temperatures may rise slightly due to the influence of the easterly wave.
