Thunderstorm activity likely to stage a comeback over Tamil Nadu

A disturbance over the North Bay and Odisha for the past few days had seen strong westerly winds and late setting of a weak sea breeze. Subsequently many places in TN recorded 2 to 3 degrees above normal temperatures during the day.

Since that disturbance has weakened and is moving towards North-West India, TN will slowly see the Westerlies weaken and allow the sea breeze to set in by afternoon in the coastal areas. This will increase the thunderstorm activity in TN in the next 48 hours.

Generally hot day to prevail in most parts of the state. Rain or thundershowers likely to occur at a few places. Rainfall to gradually reduce in Western Ghats area from the next 24 to 48 hours.
