Monsoon covers North East India – “One of the wettest region on Earth”

The South West Monsoon surge has now covered the lush green states of North East India, but has remained almost stationary with its northern limit in Peninsular India. This is giving Mumbai some tense moments. It is expected to gradually cover some more parts of the Peninsula over the next 4-5 days.
Thunderstorm activity is expected to remain subdued in Tamil Nadu, except for an isolated odd shower in North interior and North coastal districts.  The day time temperatures will stay marginally above normal in the major cities of TN, except for those in the Western interiors. Heavy to very heavy rains to lash many parts of North East India.
