Early and long summer ahead
Weather conditions across the peninsula is all set to change gears as land based heating increases. Temperatures near coastal places are expected to start increasing late this week as surface winds turn more westerly.
Cyclonic circulations exist near Himachal Pradesh, West Rajasthan and East Bihar along with a large low pressure area across the northern plains.
Severe heat warnings for: Telangana, Jharkhand, Orissa, Rayalaseema, parts of interior Maharashtra

Vellore – Bright sunshine with a high of 38 degrees and a low of 26 degrees.
Madurai – Partly cloudy with a chance of a thunderstorm in the evening. High of about 37 degrees and a humid uncomfortable night with a low of about 29 degrees.
Tiruchi – Extremely warm with a high of 38 degrees and an uncomfortable night of about 29 degrees.
Coimbatore – Sizzling with a high of 40 degrees C and a low of 25 degrees .
