North East Monsoon onset round the corner
The upper level disturbance over south east Arabian sea is responsible for formation of present well marked low pressure area. This is going to intensify further into depression in 24 hours.
As cyclone is likely to be born out in 48 hours,shower and thunderstorm activity will be ongoing over Kerala and Tamil Nadu and parts of interior Karnataka today.
Even though the rain is subdued today, many coastal and interior districts of Tamil Nadu would experience rainfall activities.
City Outlook:
Chennai – Light to medium rain would occur over parts of Chennai city. Temperatures remain comfortable at 29C/24C.
Vellore – Overcast cool and chance of few showery spells during the day. Mercury will settle at 27C/23C.
Trichy – Mostly cloudy with chance of few showers. Day time high of 29C and night lows of 24C is forecast.
Madurai – Cloudy and very high chance of precipitation. Comfortable day highs of 29C will prevail with overnight lows of 23C.
Coimbatore – Mostly cloudy with a chance of an odd shower in the vicinity. Highs of 29C and lows of 22C will be observed.
