North East Monsoon Rains to cease over South Peninsular India

Fast and furious ride of North East Monsoon has almost come to the very end over South Peninsular India as the forecasts indicate replacement of moist easterly winds with that of dry one. Usually, at this time of the year, the sun would be farther in Southern Hemishere and the high pressure belt which remain fixated over Central India would spread its wings to lower latitudes of Peninsula thereby bringing in the dry air from North. Similar conditions are expected to pan out in coming days along with eastward moving disturbance in South Bay of Bengal, which would further suck all moisture from Indian landmass. In all probabilities, winter is all set to begin over South Peninsular India from weekend.

Odd shower or two would occur in isolated places over South Coastal TN and Delta today and tomorrow. And rains would taper out there as well from weekend. Partly sunny to clear skies would prevail over the entire state from now on. Night temperatures will take a noticeable dip in coming days, as the skies tend to be more clear. NEM rainfall tally is around 70cm so far against normal of 41cm and no major change is expected to these stats till seasonal closure. In all aspects, this monsoon has savoured well and we must thank the nature for all its deeds.
