Spike in Temperature expected across Tamil Nadu

The offshore winds are back again off the coast of Tamil Nadu and a resultant spike in day highs expected over Chennai and also south coastal AP. However, sea breeze will rescue the city by noon followed by Airport at around 2.00 pm. Interior regions of Tamilnadu such as Salem, Karur, Tiruchirappalli, Madurai , Vellore and few other towns would continue to blaze with the day max hovering around 40-41 degrees c. Around all this, few pockets of southern tip of TN may see some isolated showers.

Chennai – With the effect of offshore winds, maximum temperature is expected to touch 38 C in the city while Airport is expected to break 40 C barrier.

Vellore – Hot and blazing day on cards with a high of 41 C and minimum of 26 C.

Tiruchirappalli – Warm and Sultry day with maxima expected to touch 41 C.

Madurai – Uncomfortable day with mercury peaking at 40 C.

Coimbatore – Clear day on cards with maximum expected to touch 40 degrees c.
